Strategies For Success and Happiness - Finding Your Niche in Life - Part 2

In Part 1 you started asking yourself some questions to stimulate your thinking. Part 2 will trigger some additional thoughts and investigate some ideas of how you want to monetize this niche for you.

If you struggle with knowing what your strong suits are and are having difficulty seeing your talents, asking those closest to you, may help reveal things you can't see yourself. Ask people who have your best interest at heart, someone you know you can trust to be honest and open. Sometimes, what you excel at may be staring you right in the face and you don't see it.

What sets you on fire? What causes you to perk up when you hear the mention of the subject? Perhaps you're traveling with a group and overhear the people behind you discussing a topic you know plenty about and they are stating things incorrectly. Do you want to turn around in your seat and say, "hey that's not correct, because I know a lot about this and can help you out?" This is a strong indication you love this subject.

Once you have noted several dreams you have for yourself, start to think of ways you are making money from who you have become. Is someone hiring you? Do you work on commission or are you a consultant? Are you creating products or discovering ancient ruins? Do you have your own corporation or are you a journeyman? Do you make guest appearances or do people access you via the Radio, TV or Internet? Is this a solo venture? Would you seek out partners to accomplish your dream or could you find a manufacturer to develop your product and a distributor to broadcast your creation(s) for you?

Are you a writer, speaker, actor? Could you write a book and publish it online? Or create an online presence that could market you? Could you make your own movie and star in it? Make an online video to showcase your talent(s)? Are you artistic with drawing, cartooning, painting, sculpting, dancing? Have a friend video tape you in session and post it on the web.

Remember the objective here is "if you knew you could not fail what would you do? For some we could say instead: If you knew you only had a year to live, what would you do? Facing your own mortality sometimes can stir up the kettle and get you to move toward those things you've always wanted to do. If not now, when?

In Part 3 you will wrap up your decisions and chart your course of action for finding your niche in life.
