Starting Your Blog - 3 Easy Steps
With the shift into web 2.0 many people are creating blogs to get their thoughts out into the blogosphere and possibly to produce an extra income stream. Have you ever wanted to start your own blog? 1) You need a domain and hosting for your blog. I recommend getting a domain from Namecheap, and hosting from Host Gator. I would recommend hosting your blog with Host Gator for the fact that they have excellent live support, and if you are not the most technically adept person, like myself, then it is incredibly helpful if you run into any problems while setting, or backing, up your blog. You can also use Host Gator coupons in order to make the first month of hosting only $0.01. This means that if, at the end of the month, you decide that the blog is not working for you, then there are extremely minimal expenses.
2) Now that you have the hosting and domain set up (if you run into any problems, just use the live support feature at Host Gator) we can install Wordpress. Wordpress is a Content Management System (CMS) that will allow you to post entries to your blog easily. Follow the setting up wordpress tutorial (link at the bottom) in order to install Wordpress.
