Coffee Or Tea Which One Will It Be

Posted by admin in Green Coffee

For a coffee lover like me.I sometimes like a good cup of tea.

In this busy world there is nothing finer than taking time out from a busy schedule to enjoy a quiet cuppa by ones self. Sitting back with a steaming espresso in hand is like entering an oasis of sanity in the middle of a hectic day.

But then again I do relish sharing a brew with one or more friends whether it is when they come to visit me at home, or if we all meet up at a coffee house.

Coffee and tea are an indispensable social tradition the world over. I know I am grossly insulted if someone comes to my house and turns down my offer of a cup of the good brew

However, if it is summer and the temperature is running a little high many people prefer iced coffee or tea to cool them down rather than to warm them up. Now days, there are also some really enticing gourmet blends on the market which include a variety of fruit or nut flavors that add something special to any occasion.

Both coffee and tea are stimulants which contain caffeine. However if you are looking to wind down instead of be up-lifted, you can opt for decaffeinated coffee where the beans undergo a process to have the caffeine content removed. The only draw back is the decaffeination process tends to take some of the flavor with it, so it is best to buy a premium grade of coffee when you want the no kick or light variety.

Some people cant drink coffee or tea at all because it affects their blood pressure. More commonly people wont touch coffee because it interferes with their sleep patterns. Naturally enough if you do have trouble sleeping then it would be best not to have a full strength brew just before you go to bed. Maybe an herbal tea would be a better choice.

Alternately, you may like to switch to a caffeine-free version of your favorite brew at bed time. Of course if you want a bit more buck, then you can always try one of those flavored stirrers that are becoming more and more popular and readily available in supermarkets everywhere these days.

Coffee and tea are the caffeine twins (although coffee is the one with all the hitting power); however it is quite ironic that both are associated with comfort and relaxation when really the opposite is in fact the case. If you are really looking to wind down beer or wine are probably better depressants.

We all have our different daily rituals when it comes to drinking coffee or tea.

First thing in the morning I prefer the jolt of a good espresso. The aroma is as stimulating as the coffee itself. It might seem strange but at lunch time I enjoy a cup of tea, something like English breakfast tea does it for me at this time of the day.

Lately with the arrival of warmer weather I have taken to drinking Chai tea. The spicy taste is quite refreshing and I like it either black or with a dash of milk. By the close of day I really like to finish off with a top quality gourmet blend coffee and possibly a glass of port or a small brandy on the side.

Enjoy!

Grow Coffee At Your Home

Posted by admin in Green Coffee

To grow a coffee plant at home is a wonderful experience that would assist you in learning and appreciating the job involved in producing a good cup of coffee. Growing coffee at home is very easy. You need to take care of the plant especially during flowering or cherry development. Ideally you need to start with a freshly picked coffee cherry.

Harvesting Coffee Seeds

Based on the county where your coffee is being grown, the coffee beans can be further harvested as little or much in year depends on the countys plant and accessible climate. Coffee plant flowers and fruit are purely dependent on the cycle of wet seasons. Growing coffee beans nearer to equator gives you more and more chance to harvest. The cherry is normally pulped by hand, washed with clean water, and fermented in a small container. The fermentation stage is now complete when the mucilage no longer clings to the coffee. Wash away the fermented mucilage with clean water.

Each year coffee is generally harvested during the dry season only, when the coffee cherries are extremely bright red, glossy and firm adequate to be harvested. These processes are called as careful picking, stripping and mechanical harvesting, respectively.

Germination

If coffee cherries are not readily accessible green coffee could also be bought from a home supplier, but it is vital that the bean is of a current crop and current shipment. The probable for germination would then go on for almost four months, but after this time the germination rate is numerous fold less and germination time is drastically longer. Fresh seeds need to be germinated in 2.5 months, but old seeds could as well take as long as 6 months.

Proper Care

The temperature in countries outside the Tropic belt is too unstable and too cold to permit the tree to grow. It is suggested watering the tree twice per week as full watering and a half watering. In a half watering, we can simply add some water to the soil and let it to drain. In a full watering add water with fertilizer and let it to drain. The key is to maintain the soil most, but well drained.

After two or three years flowering and probably cherries could be expected, but do not hope for high-quality coffee unless you are at a high altitude and are watching the conditions of the artificial microclimate carefully. Once the cherries are grown you could harvest, pulp, ferment, dry, roast, and have a drink of your own coffee production.

The Types of Gourmet Coffee

Posted by admin in Green Coffee

Since its first induction as the worlds most popular beverage, coffee has gone through many changes and upgrades. These improvements allow gourmet coffee drinkers the chance to choose between many different grades and flavors of the coffee. Whether you are a coffee connoisseur or just need your morning pick me up, theres nothing to tempt the palate quite like a hot mug of smooth gourmet coffee!

To fully appreciate a cup of hot gourmet flavored coffee, you should take a minute to inform yourself with the basics of gourmet coffee. The coffee bean is not really a bean; they are actually the seeds of a cherry that are found on a coffee tree. There are a couple of different ways to extract the seed; wet process and dry process. Each process will bring about the shared result of removing all of the fruit from the seed.

There are two types of coffee: Arabica and Robusta. Robusta coffee makes up the coffee that has the most caffeine, at the cheapest price. Arabica (a.k.a. gourmet) coffee is the best grade of coffee. It has50% of the caffeine of Robusta and has the best taste. Those that enjoy this type of coffee will also tell you that gourmet coffee has a much better smell and more desirable flavors than Robusta.

Gourmet coffee is available in many of your favorite flavors, including: almond, amaretto, Irish crme, French vanilla, Swiss mocha, vanilla, chocolate, mint, peppermint, pumpkin spice and just about anything else you can imagine! Basically, if there is any flavor that you are partial to, you will be able to find.

There are gourmet flavored coffees that are caffeinated and those that are decaffeinated. If you have a sensitive stomach, you can even find gourmet coffee that is low in acid, making it a little more gentle. Arabica coffee ranks very high among the Specialty Coffee Association of America, which pretty much sets the standards applied to all gourmet coffee drinks.

Many coffee making companies offer a gourmet style drink, including: Gevalia, Green Mountain, San Giorgio, San Francisco Bay, Kona and Javalution. The gourmet coffee beans are offered in a variety of different serving sizes. They are also offered at many different prices, depending on your personal preference. Though this type of coffee may be a bit more pricey than the Robusta, its the only choice for true coffee lovers!

The Pros and Cons of a One Cup Coffee Maker

Posted by admin in Green Coffee

For those on the run, there are a few things in life that make more sense than others cereal bars, wrinkle free shirts, and short hair cuts. Things that cut a few minutes out of a busy day are worth every cent and often every second you spend on them. Every couple of extra minutes spent in traffic mean a few more minutes spent not getting something else done at home. Or worse yet, you might have to get up earlier.

The one cup coffee maker is one of those magic devices that can cut a few of those precious moments out of your day, speeding up your wake up routine and getting you out the door to beat traffic. Of course, youll be sacrificing some things when you take your one cup coffee over a fancier espresso style machine or the convenience of a Starbucks Mocha.

First youve got the plus side. You have a small, space efficient machine, fairly cheap and fast. It brews a single cup of coffee in a couple of minutes in your kitchen, while you shower or brush your teeth. Its usually a breeze to clean and doesnt leave any messy leftovers that youll come home to.

On the other side though, you have the basic pitfalls of convenience. Youre limited in what you drink and how much of it you drink. When you brew your cup in the morning, you have very limited options most often, especially if you stick with the cheaper machines out there. If youre interested in anything other than the most basic of brews, youll want to spend a decent chunk of change getting it.

The next downside is that you do in fact only get a single cup of coffee. Youd better be sure youre on the run, every time. If you tend to sit and sip at a half dozen cups of coffee on a Saturday or Sunday morning, you might want to get a bigger machine one that will cater to your dual tastes.

When choosing your coffee maker, keep in mind what youll be doing with it. If youre interested in an incredibly quick and easy cup of coffee to get you out the door in the morning, take the single cup coffee maker option seriously. If you want fancy buttons and knobs, or occasionally want to drown yourself in caffeinated goodness, think about getting a more versatile machine that will meet all of your needs.

Coffee Of The Month Club = Great Gift

Posted by admin in Green Coffee

Still trying to decide what the best gift to give is? A coffee of the month club is definately one the best gifts you can give a friend or loved one, or even yourself. You can give, and get, some of the best roasts that the world has to offer. For starters, you could have beans that come from all the
way from Africa and they are renowned for their wine-like undertones and their wild hints of the jungle. Central America can send you beans with a smooth taste and an even well balanced flavor. The beans from Brazil, which is what most Americans drink all the time maybe without even knowing it,
will be the top-notch kind you cant find in a can, with the same familiar and reassuring flavor but accentuated. But whether its you receiving the coffee of the month club, or a dear friend, you cant truely enjoy your 12 monthly presents without properly knowing how to make the coffee.

The key to getting the utmost out of your coffee of the month club is setting up your drip coffee machines with a gold, nylon, or other type
of permanent filter. Such permanent filters ensure that the essential flavor and oils of the coffee grinds make their way through the filter and
into the water. Whats more, these permanent filters accomplish this without adding unwanted nasty tastes.

Paper filters will do just that to your delicious blends from the coffee of the month club. Paper filters leave an aftertaste into your morning
cup of joe. Paper filters also absorb some of the special flavor molecules and aromatic oils from your coffee grinds. You lose these, and you
lose the javas tantalizing taste. If you must use paper filters, rinse them with hot water beforehand. Better yet, use permanent filters. You
may need to clean them before each use, but it will be well worth it.

Also, when brewing your coffee of the month club varieties in a drip coffee machine, grind them to a medium to fine grinds of coffee. Always
start with cold water, and make sure that your coffee machine is fine tuned to being the water to the proper cooking temperature. The
proper water temperature is between 195 degrees and 205 degrees, which guarantees that the best coffee ground extraction. And then follow
one last rule before you can actually taste your delicious new coffees: dump the grounds from the filter before the last couple of drops of
water drip through.

So, if giving the great gift of a coffee of the month club be sure to let the lucky recipient know the above tips on how to brew their monthly
presents so they get the most out of your thoughtful gift.

Espresso Coffee Maker: A Brief Insight

Posted by admin in Green Coffee

The espresso coffee maker is a unique coffee-making machine. It specializes in serving just the perfect cup of rich, creamy and frothy Italian coffee drink named espresso that is just so irresistible! The brewing technique implemented to make espresso coffee is very exclusive. In this particular brewing method you are forcing hot water through finely ground coffee at a high pressure to make the coffee.

So as to force the water through the fine-ground coffee, the espresso coffee maker utilizes pressure that comes from heating water inside a sealed vessel. The pressure can be generated by a pressure pump or by steam. Pressure pump fitted espresso machines are the best as they generate more consistent pressure at the optimal brewing temperature.

Most commercial espresso machines are pump driven while the majority of the home espresso makers are steam driven.

An espresso coffee maker brews your espresso quick and fast. It is convenient and simple to operate. Making espressos at home could never get easier than this. If you are a true espresso fanatic then you just cant ignore this smart looking coffee making gadget!

The most important part of the espresso coffee maker is the pressure pump. The coffee liquid is subjected to optimum levels of pressure in a short time. The water that is passed under high pressure through the freshly ground coffee should be just below the boiling point. As a result the maximum flavor and aroma is distilled out into your coffee.

The coffee brewing principle used to make espresso coffee in the espresso coffee maker is ideal to make less caffeinated espresso coffee. The high pressure applied in the process actually sucks out bitter oils and discharges far less caffeine than the other brewing processes. So espresso coffee is much healthier than other types of brewed coffee. Forget all those caffeine blues when you are sipping into your creamy espresso!

The capacity of the pressure pump device fitted in the espresso coffee maker is expressed in bars. A bar is equivalent to kg/square centimeter. A good pump can withstand pressures up to 15 bars or more. So it is essential for you to check these configurations before buying an espresso machine.

You must consider one very important aspect about enjoying a perfect cup of espresso. The creamy froth layer that forms at the top must stay as it is for a considerable period of time. So a pressure of around 7-9 bars must be passed through the coffee in the espresso coffee maker. Otherwise the froth will vanish as soon as it is formed making your espresso not worth a sip!

You can select from a wide range of impressive espresso coffee maker machines available in the market to suit your needs. These coffee making gadgets are offered at competitive prices in a variety of models. The espresso coffee makers are standard household appliances in most American homes!

You can buy a good quality standard espresso coffee maker without having to burn a hole in your pockets. A variety of low budget (less than $100) compact espresso machines are available. Some of the top low price espresso models are:

  • Krups Caffe Duomo Espresso Machine

Preparing Decaf Using One Cup Coffee Makers

Posted by admin in Green Coffee

Decaf or decaffeinated coffee is much in demand nowadays. With findings confirming harmful effects of caffeine content of coffee, this has been the emerging trend. Caffeine has been held responsible for chest pain (or heartburn) that is often experienced after taking in a coffee drink, as well as producing other problems.

Heartburn and other ills of consuming caffeine

Upon consumption of coffee, heartburn is often caused because of stomach acids leaking into the esophagus. The lining of the esophagus gets irritated as a result of the action of the acid thus leading to feeling of heartburn or an uneasy chest pain sensation. Caffeine consumption has also been known to cause constipation and lead to insomnia or sleeplessness.

Decaffeinated coffee as a solution

However, despite the risks associated with consuming caffeine, ardent coffee lovers never seem to hesitate sipping in their favorite beverage. Indeed, taking in of decaf is a great way to indulge in the inviting aroma and flavor of coffee while keeping the ill effects of caffeine at bay. The decaf being such a coffee that retains all the favorable qualities of coffee while doing away only with the harmful caffeine is just what the coffee lovers deserve for their health and well being.

This process of preparing decaf or decaffeinated coffee as has been devised is termed as Hevla technology. This stands as a relief providing offering that does away with the possibility of caffeine induced heartburn and other ill effects of caffeine arising upon drinking coffee beverages.

In the Hevla technological process the beans (seeds) of coffee are steamed at high pressure. This results in the caffeine content being removed selectively while the great taste and aroma of the coffee is kept intact. Even in case of the coffee beans of the highest quality the flavor and aroma that sets them apart are not tampered with even to the slightest extent.

One cup coffee makers brewing the best decaf drinks

Gourmet Coffee When Only the Best will Do!

Posted by admin in Green Coffee

Do you remember not so long ago when there were only two choices of coffee available, either regular or decaf? Coffee drinking was pretty simple in those days. When you invited guests to your house the most you could offer them was a cup of black or white coffee.

Now days however, the world is a much bigger place offering a plethora of choice.

Coffee drinking has become a lot more sophisticated. Should you find yourself at your local coffee shop, youre sure to be confronted with an entire menu dedicated to a host of speciality flavors and blends that can be served either hot or cold.

Gourmet coffee has essentially come of age allowing those who like to indulge a wide array of choices of the finest tastes from all over the globe. As a rule gourmet coffee is generally more expensive than the regular types. However I am sure anyone who has tried some will agree it is well worth paying the bit extra for the uniquely enjoyable experience of tasting the different specialty blends. If you have never tried gourmet coffee, trust me you are really missing out on adult pleasures.

As times have changed so have peoples tastes in coffee.

No doubt that is why coffee makers have become so popular with many people installing the machines in their kitchens so they can whip-up their favourite gourmet coffee in just minutes. But the old favorite coffee presses are still used everyday by loads of people just like me who adore their simplicity and easy, no fuss clean up and storage.

If you venture down to you local coffee house you are sure to gain an education of the number of ways coffee can be prepared. Gloria Jeans is one of my favourite coffee shops and some of their gourmet blends that might inspire you are butter toffee, creamy chocolate caramel, French vanilla supreme, Swiss chocolate almond, hazelnut and of course everyones favourite Irish crme.

Coffee tasting can be a delightfully social experience and believe me you will never run out of varieties to try when as part of the selection there are coffees like amaretto, cookies and cream, chocolate macadamia and mudslide, just to name a few.

Today via the internet there is a huge variety of coffees available. If you are willing to be a bit adventurous I am sure you will find a gourmet brew that will appeal to your taste buds.

Sites are being set up as online coffee shops to sell the very best quality premium coffee blends from all around the world. Africa, South America, Italy, France and even New Orleans are just some of the places where these gourmet coffees originate.

If you are trying to find a great gift for that difficult to buy for relative or friend then why not put together a gift basket of speciality quality organic coffees. I am sure they will be thrilled you cant beat the taste sensation of a top gourmet brew.

What Coffee Grinder is Best for You - Blade or Burr

Posted by admin in Green Coffee

Grinders - Two Basic Types

The perfect cup of coffee depends not only on the bean type and the coffee machine you use but also the machine you use to grind the bean.

Some of the best grinders available today are easy to use and easy to clean up. Most coffee grinders made for home use are simple and easy to operate grinding the coffee beans in a jiffy.

You can choose from a wide variety of coffee grinders available in the market in all sorts of shapes and sizes. In simple terms most coffee grinders will be spilt into two camps – blade grinders and burr grinders.

Coffee grinders improve the taste of coffee because they release the oils and aromas of the coffee beans immediately before you brew your coffee. The best types of coffee grinders that will grind your gourmet coffee beans ideally are burr grinders, but we’ll discuss the blade grinder first.

Blade Grinders

The pros of this method are that blade grinders are affordable. Blade grinders are the most common in home coffee grinders.

Blade grinders use razor sharp blades that spin, grinding the beans in the process. The spinning blades generate heat by the friction of the blade hitting the coffee bean at high speed.

It’s the resulting heat that can cause the problem with blade grinders. The heat actually destroys some of the flavor of the coffee beans.

Burr Grinders

A burr coffee grinder is a coffee grinder that relies on the grinding method to produce ground coffee from coffee beans. For coffee lovers requiring more caffeine, a burr grinder is ideal if you don’t mind the work involved in cleaning the appliance. The conical burr grinder works best in maintaining the aroma and flavor of the coffee.

The down side to a burr grinder is the fact that they are noisy and slow. But you can grind as much or little as you require and get a reliably consistent result.

Also, when brewing espresso the burr coffee grinder supplies uniformly ground coffee that allows for an easier wetting and packing of coffee grounds in the espresso machine. Therefore, the best way to get the real thing is by using a burr coffee grinder.

Conclusion

Whether you decide on a blade grinder to save money or go for a burr grinder for a better tasting coffee, the internet is an excellent place to shop for either one. There you will enjoy a great choice of grinders offering an excellent array of features. Many sites offer reviews of different brands, and many even rate each grinder. It’s also a great way to compare prices.
